Strawberries are ready

Actually, they have been for a few weeks.  This morning Owen and Grandmama went to the strawberry patch and came home with some really good stuff.  She reported that he did much better this year and managed to steer clear of the green ones.

Catching up

My apologies...another lull in posting.  Some of these pics are from a month ago, some are from today.  I thought it would be a good idea to get them on here while I had a chance.

Owen was going through a phase where he would stick a "buddy" up his shirt and then another down his pull-up during nap time/bedtime.  I had to document it, but thank goodness it's over!

This one is from a few weeks ago, before all the grass turned green.

Playing with his favorite birthday present...the stomp rocket.  It's completely broken now.

Owen and Mallory "planting" pumpkin seeds in the garden.  It will be a miracle if they actually turn into pumpkins.

Pardon our backyard...I am halfway through pressure washing and this is the side I haven't gotten to yet.

Bears and Dragons

Yesterday afternoon Owen and I were playing in his room.  He stopped playing and said:

O:  "Daddy, you be a bear and I'll be a dragon".

I said, "Okay, I'm a bear...Roooaaar".

O:  "I'm a dragon...Whooohhh". (This is him blowing smoke and fire on me)

and now the funny part...

O:  "I'm gonna eat you for Christmas dinner!"

Festival Fun

We headed out to the Flowertown Festival Saturday morning.  We like to get there early to avoid the crowd and the long lines.  It was a little brisk but it didn't take it long to warm up to the low 70's...perfect considering the cold and rain we had earlier in the week.

Owen loved the rides, as always, and can't decide if his favorite was the giant slide or the carousel.  Mine was the giant slide.  After we burned through those tickets, we headed to the taste of the town for an early lunch and then a quick walk through the booths.  I'm not such a fan of the crowds, especially on the small sidewalk.  Owen started to drag his feet so that was our cue to head home.  He perked up slightly when we got to see Maddie Rue on our way to the car, and that night he said she was the highlight of this festival experience.
