North Litchfield Beach 2011 (trip #2)

I didn't take nearly as many pics on our second trip to Litchfield.  In the past, we would go down to the beach after dinner on our last night and have a impromptu planned photo session.  We couldn't fit that in (insert sad face here) but at least we made it happen a few weeks before.

Brookgreen Gardens, pt. 2

Brookgreen Gardens is literally across the street from North Litchfield.  One afternoon we let Owen skip nap and took a little trip to see what we could find.  We only made it through one part of the zoo before running out of time.  The good thing about this place is that your tickets are good for seven days.  We didn't make it back this trip, but will definitely remember that next year.

He swims!

Last summer, Owen swam by himself all over the pool.  On Easter, Owen, Connor and Dylan got in the pool even though it was freezing.  He got a little too brave and went too far (without any flotation device) and had to be rescued.  Thanks Michelle!

Since then, each time we've gone to the pool he has refused to go any further than the steps.  We have tried to encourage him and just be patient and it finally paid off.  Sunday he just asked to come in with me, and I said sure and that was that.  A few hours later he wanted his swimmie and off he went.  I don't know if having his buddies (Josh and Sam) there did the trick but it was worth the wait.

Welcome Home Granddaddy!

Granddaddy came home Friday night for the first time in over a year.  Owen made him a sign and we greeted him at the airport.

We pick 'em

Saturday morning we went blueberry picking at a local farm.  We had a storm the night before so all the bushes were still wet.  Owen didn't do much picking, but really liked to shake the bushes and get us (and himself) soaked.
